The best ways to grow, develop and strengthen your law practice is to maintain good relationships with past and current clients. If the economy has impacted your practice such that you have time; use this time to check in on a personal level with your clients. Find out what’s going on in their businesses or with their families. The information you learn may help in ways you won’t appreciate until you make the call.
You’ll get a better understanding of the economy and its impact on you and your clients. You might find they have been putting off sending you something for cash flows reasons and maybe you’ll work out a deal to get the work now. You might learn they are mourning the loss of a relative and there is work you can do related to that and they just hadn’t thought to contact you. Or you might just have an enjoyable conversation that will solidify your relationship so that when they need to hire a lawyer or make a referral you will be the obvious choice.
